● Biography
Charles Kunkle, MSN, CEN, CCRN, BC-NA, is a keynote speaker, award-winning author, and trusted voice in healthcare culture and leadership development with over 30 years of clinical and organizational experience across emergency medicine, pre-hospital EMS, cardiothoracic intensive care, and flight nursing.
In 2005, a fatal shooting in the emergency department where Charles served as nurse manager became a defining moment in his career. What he observed about how culture, trust, and leadership presence shape team performance under pressure became the foundation of everything he teaches today.
Charles launched No Time To Care Solutions in 2009 to help healthcare leaders energize, empower, and engage bedside caregivers. In 2016, he published No Time to Care: A Leadership Game Plan to Ensure Caregiver Engagement, which received the prestigious Silver Medal Award from the American Journal of Nursing. In 2019, he was honored to serve as keynote speaker at the National Magnet Conference.
He was named Nurse Manager of the Year by Nursing Spectrum magazine in 2006 and has been featured in RN magazine. He has spoken at healthcare systems, leadership conferences, and national associations throughout the country, earning a reputation for combining storytelling, humor, and practical frameworks that attendees can implement immediately.
Charles speaks about culture, leadership presence, and human connection in high-pressure environments. His work is grounded in one core belief: culture is not sustained by mission statements alone. It is reinforced through the daily experience of work.

No Time to Care: From Task—Oriented Survival to Purpose— Driven Nursing
A nurse walks out of a room where something devastating just happened, and thirty seconds later, they ‘re expected to be fully present for the next patient, the next task, the next documentation requirement. That’s the reality Charles built this keynote around. Drawing on decades at the bedside, Charles explores what happens when caring professionals become task-oriented survivors, and how nurses can reconnect with the purpose that brought them into healthcare in the first place.
